How to: Add Logical Datacenter Diagrams to Solutions 

In Visual Studio Team Edition for Architects, you can add a new or existing logical datacenter diagram to a solution.

To add a blank logical datacenter diagram to the solution

  1. Open the Visual Studio solution to which you want to add a logical datacenter diagram.

  2. On the Project menu, choose Add New Item.

    The Add New Item - Solution Items dialog box appears.

  3. In the Categories pane, choose Distributed System Diagrams.

  4. In the Templates pane, choose Logical Datacenter Diagram.

  5. Type a name for the diagram and click Add.

    Logical Datacenter Designer displays the diagram. In Solution Explorer, the diagram appears in the Solution Items folder with an .ldd extension.

    Tip

    You can also right-click the solution node in Solution Explorer and choose Add New Distributed System Diagram to add a new diagram to your solution.

To add an existing logical datacenter diagram to the solution

  1. On the Project menu, choose Add Existing Item.

    The Add Existing Item - Solution Items dialog box appears.

  2. Browse for and select a logical datacenter diagram (.ldd) file.

    Logical Datacenter Designer displays the diagram you selected.
