How to: Specify Binding Details on Deployment Diagrams

When binding an application, the Deployment Designer automatically binds the endpoints on the application to the appropriate endpoints on the logical server. In instances where an application is bound to a server with more than one possible binding endpoint, the Binding Details dialog box appears. For example, this dialog box appears when a Web service is bound to an IIS Web server with multiple Web site endpoints.

Use this dialog box to assign the application endpoint to the appropriate server endpoint, and also to assign Web applications to the appropriate application pool on IIS Web servers. You can also use this dialog box to modify existing endpoint bindings.

To bind application endpoints to logical server endpoints

  1. If the Binding Details dialog box is not visible, select the bound application and choose Binding Details… from the Diagram menu.

  2. For each application endpoint, specify the binding by choosing the appropriate logical server endpoint from the list.

  3. For Web applications, you can additionally associate the Web application with the appropriate application pool by selecting one from the Application pool list.
