How to: Unbind Applications from Logical Servers

To accommodate deployment design changes and errors, you can unbind applications from a logical server on a deployment diagram. For example, if a Web application is bound to an IIS Web server that is not configured to host the application, you can unbind the application and then bind it to another IIS Web server with a more appropriate configuration.

Use the following procedure to unbind applications from servers.

To unbind an application from a logical server

  1. On a deployment diagram, select the application you want to unbind.

  2. Choose Unbind from the Diagram menu.

    Tip

You can also-right click the bound application and choose Unbind.

The application is unbound from the logical server and made available in System View for binding to another logical server.
