How to: Enable or Disable Publishing of Work Items in Microsoft Project

You can maintain certain work items in your project plan separately from your Team Foundation team project by disabling publishing. Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Office integration enables you to disable publishing of a work item to the work item database. If at some point you want to include the work item, you can enable publishing and the work item will be updated or added to your team project.

Note

If the work item already is in your team project, when you disable publishing for the work item, any changes you make in Microsoft Project are not synchronized to your team project.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Readers group or have the View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
