Control.OnInvalidated(InvalidateEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the Invalidated event.

protected:
 virtual void OnInvalidated(System::Windows::Forms::InvalidateEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnInvalidated(System.Windows.Forms.InvalidateEventArgs e);
abstract member OnInvalidated : System.Windows.Forms.InvalidateEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnInvalidated : System.Windows.Forms.InvalidateEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnInvalidated (e As InvalidateEventArgs)

Parameters

e
InvalidateEventArgs

An InvalidateEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnInvalidated method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnInvalidated(InvalidateEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnInvalidated(InvalidateEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
