Search for Wildcard Dialog Box (Explorer)
Searches for files using a specified pattern or string, called a wildcard. The search retrieves only files matching the specified wildcard. You can use *.* recursively or for the entire database to get a complete file listing, project by project, in the file list.
Dialog Box Access
In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, on the View menu, click Search, then Wildcard Search.
- Search Area
Specifies the area to search: the current project, the current project and all subprojects, or all projects.
- Wildcard
Specifies a file name or string with wildcard characters, for example, file.*. Use a question mark to replace one character and an asterisk to replace two or more characters.
