Using Server Explorer, you can explore existing event logs on any computer to which you have access. You can view any log available on these computers. This includes those logs you create from Visual Studio.

To locate an event log in Server Explorer

  1. Expand the Servers node, and then expand the node for the server you want to view.

    Tip

If the server you want to view is not listed, you have to add it. For more information, see How to: Access and Initialize Server Explorer/Database Explorer.

  2. Locate and expand the Event Logs node underneath it.
