How to: Add Indexes to Fields

When you add a field to a table, you can specify a regular index on the field quickly.

To add an index to a field

  1. Open the table in the Table Designer (Visual FoxPro).

  2. On the Fields tab, select the field that you want.

  3. In the Index list for the field, select the index sort order you want.

    The index you create appears in the Indexes tab in the Table Designer automatically and uses the field as the index expression.

  4. To continue editing the index, click the Indexes tab.
