Contacts and Contact Groups

A "contact," from the perspective of a SIP user, is a presence entity that the user has subscribed to in order to receive status updates. The MSFT_SIPESUserContactData class contains the specific settings for an individual contact presence, including the SIP address of the contact as well as the contact groups designated for it by the subscribing user.

Contact groups are logical arrangements of contacts, ordered by the user client or application. For example, "Co-workers" might be a contact group for one SIP user; "Meeting Invitees" might be a contact group for another or for a scheduling application. Instances of the MSFT_SIPESUserContactGroupData class contain the name and external URL of the group assigned to it by the user whose contact subscriptions it also contains.
