Organizing Queries in Folders (Team System Web Access)

Team Foundation saves queries into one of two query folders: My Queries and Team Queries. This topic explains the difference between these two folders and when you might save a query in one or the other.

My Queries Folder

Queries in the My Queries folder are visible only to you in Team Explorer or Team System Web Access. When you design queries to enhance your own productivity, you save these queries in the My Queries folder. For example, you might create a query that finds all active tasks assigned to you. Because such a query is more valuable to you than to other team members, it belongs in your My Queries folder.

Team Queries Folder

Queries in the Team Queries folder are used by the team and are visible to the whole team. Queries such as "All Work Items" are needed by many members of a team, and are located where all members can access them.

To save queries in the Team Queries folder, you must be a member of the Project Administrators group. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
