Reviewing the Job Logs

Each time a job is executed, a new directory is created to hold the job’s logs that contain files related to the job’s execution. A Copy Results task copies files to the job’s log directory by default. If a task in the job executes the WttCmd tool, a log is created automatically in the directory. If the job runs an executable that uses the logger API, the log will be created in the directory in a format that can be displayed by DTM.

To view job logs

1.

  1. Switch to the Result Explorer window.
You can also open a new Result Explorer window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Result Explorer.

  2. Select your DTM controller from the drop-down box in the upper left of the Result Explorer window.

  3. In the Feature tab, select the feature node that contains the jobs whose results you want to examine.
All instances of jobs within the feature node that are executing, or have finished executing, are listed in the Results pane.

  4. Right-click the job whose logs you want to view and select Browse Job Logs.
A directory that contains the logs that were created for this job is displayed in a Windows Explorer window.

Note  If the job does not create any logs, or only contains Library jobs which may be returning WTT Logs, then Browse Job Logs will not be available.
If you are not sure if your job contains the Library job with results, right-click your job, select Child Job Results, and then follow the steps above to view your job logs manually. You can also access a tree view of results and logs using Device Console / Status / Report.

  5. Navigate through the directories until you find the log you want to view.

  6. Double-click the log you want to view.
