Restoring a Deleted Job

To restore a job that was accidentally deleted from Job Explorer or irreversibly modified, complete the following procedure.

Note Performing these steps may affect any in-progress Logo Submission. If possible, please complete all Logo testing before performing these steps.

This process restores the entire set of logo jobs and can take up to half an hour, depending on the hardware specification of the computer onto which you are restoring the jobs.

To restore a deleted job

  1. On the Tools menu, click Management Console.

  2. In the left pane, right-click the Packages node, and then click Register Package.

  3. In the Select Package to Open dialog box, select and open the appropriate .PCK file.

Note Multiple PCK files may be installed, depending on the logo kit that was installed. To locate the appropriate PCK, select the name that is similar to the installed logo kit. For example, if System Logo Kit was installed, you will see system_lk.pck at %system_root%\Program Files\Microsoft Driver Test Manager\Tests\Package\.

  4. In the left pane, expand the Packages node.

  5. Right-click <your_package_name> node, and then click Open in Job Explorer.

  6. In the Package Explorer window, click Refresh near the top right.

Note It can take up to five minutes for the window to refresh and display all the logo jobs in the package. During this time, the mouse pointer will not be displayed as an hour glass. However, you will see a progress bar at the bottom-right corner of the window.

  7. Press CTRL+A to select all the displayed logo jobs.

  8. On the File menu, click Export Jobs.

  9. On the Export Jobs dialog box, click Start.

  10. After the job export process has completed, close the Package Explorer window.

  11. Switch to the Job Explorer window.

You can also open a new Job Explorer window by clicking Explorers and then clicking Job Explorer.

  12. On the File menu, click Import Jobs.

  13. On the Import Options dialog box, click Start.

Note When you click Start, you will not see a progress bar and the pointer will retain its default shape. A dialog box titled Job GUID Collision might appear. If it does, select the Always do the Selected Action check box, and then click Overwrite to continue. A running count of the imported files is displayed near the bottom-left corner of the dialog box. If the running count for the imported files still shows 0 after several minutes, press ALT+TAB to reveal the Job GUID Collision dialog box. This process of importing all the logo jobs can take about 20 minutes.
