Remarks

The LocationType element is required if a URL element is present, but no known search result formats are specified in the Type attribute of the URL element. You can specify one of the following location types:

  • LocalSharePoint Specify this type for local SharePoint sites. This is the default value.

  • OpenSearch Specify this type for remote SharePoint sites and other OpenSearch providers.
