Uploading an Application

This procedure describes how to upload a Silverlight application to Silverlight Streaming.

Important note: There are three upload limits to keep in mind:

  • No file within the application package can be larger than 105 megabytes (110,100,480 bytes).
  • Your total Silverlight Streaming storage quota is ten gigabytes.
  • Video length cannot exceed ten minutes.

The Silverlight Streaming service enforces a five-minute idle connection timeout on upload, after which the upload will fail.

  1. Navigate to the Manage Applications page on the Silverlight Streaming administration site.

  2. Click the link Upload a Silverlight Application.

  3. Type a name for this application to identify it on the server. The name must consist of alphanumeric characters only, with no spaces. Click the Create button.

  4. Click the Browse button to locate the .ZIP archive that contains your Silverlight application, associated media assets, scripts, and manifest.

  5. Click the Upload button to upload the application package to your storage space on the Silverlight Streaming server.
