About values required to schedule a job

To run a job, you must first provide required values for the Create a Job Instance wizard. Some required values, such as a job name and label, are required for all jobs. Other required values are specific to a particular job template.

For more information about values that are required to create a job with the wizard, see Schedule a job.

For information about values that are required for a specific job template, see the documentation for that predefined job template.

The following table shows the values that are required for all jobs.

User-friendly name of the job. The name must be from one to 256 characters long.

Label

Description

A short description of the job. The description can be up to 512 characters long.

Jobs are run under the context of the user who runs the job, not under the context of the specified owner of the job.

(Optional) Configuration values that are required when the user selects Rerun job automatically.

In addition to the values that are required for all jobs, each predefined job template requires user-supplied values that are unique to that template. For information about values that are required for a specific job template, see the documentation for that predefined job template.
