About the Currency dimension
The Currency dimension is a flat dimension that stores a list of currencies. The rules associated with the Entity dimension use the currencies in this dimension to assign currency types to entities. Planning Business Modeler does not populate this dimension for you. Before you can use this dimension, you must populate it with the list of currencies that your model requires.
Note
In order to set currency types in the Entity dimension, you must first add members to the Currency dimension. For more information, see About the Entity dimension.
For each member of the dimension, the Currency dimension supports a single member property, Symbol. This property specifies whether the currency symbol appears when the currency is displayed in reports. PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel does not currently set cell formatting based on this value.
User modifications in the Currency dimension
You can add a new dimension member to the Currency dimension. If you add a new member to the Currency dimension, the new currency will not be available to the Entity dimension unless you save the change and refresh the model. You cannot create member hierarchies in the Currency dimension.
In addition to new dimension members, you can also add member sets, member views, and member properties.
The following table lists the objects that you can add to the Currency dimension.
