This section provides information to help you get started using Speech Server, learn what is new in this version of Speech Server, learn about key Speech Server concepts, and locate step-by-step tutorials and walkthroughs to help you develop voice response applications.

Four installer programs are used to install Speech Server and all of its components and tools:

Speech Server ??? Speech Server and its core components: Server Components, Development Tools, Documentation, Administrative Tools, and Data Processing Utilities are installed from the Speech Server DVD. For more information, see How to: Install Speech Server.

Language Packs ??? Language resources that support the development and deployment of applications in English (United States), English (United Kingdom), French (Canada), German (Germany), and Spanish (United States) are installed from the Speech Server DVD. For more information, see How to: Install or Remove a Language Pack.

Telephony Interface Manager Connector (TIMC) ??? The TIMC is a compatibility layer between a Telephony Interface Manager (TIM) and the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interface. Download and install TIMC from the Speech Server page. For more information, see How to: Install the TIMC.

Business Intelligence Tools ??? Tools that enable customers with high call volumes to manage and report on their data effectively and efficiently are installed from the Speech Server DVD. For more information, see How to: Install Business Intelligence Tools.
