A Speech Server application is the software developed using Speech Server Developer Tools that includes the call-handling business logic and the resources required to listen and speak to callers. All Speech Server applications have a Web server component and a Speech Server component.

To deploy an application, move the application files to a location accessible by the Web server, configure the Web server to run the application, and then configure Speech Server using the Administrator console or WMI scripts to provide speech-related services for the application's active call sessions.

The Speech Server??Administrator console includes functionality for setting up the computer running Speech Server and automatically configuring the Web server (as long as the Web server host is the same as Speech Server). Remote Web servers (that is, Web servers that are not localhost) must be configured manually to run the application.

This section discusses how to add or remove an application, which is part of the application deployment process, and how to configure individual Speech Server settings for the deployed application.
