Dimensions and members in Planning Business Modeler

Planning Business Modeler provides two categories of dimensions, predefined dimensions and user-defined dimensions. Predefined dimensions can be used as generated, but some modifications are often necessary to accommodate your current data structure and naming conventions.

A dimension member is a discrete name or identifier that is used to identify the position and description of a data item in a dimension. You can organize dimension members into member sets, and then use member sets are then used to create models that contain the data that is used by applications.

A member set should include all the dimension members that are required for the calculations that a model performs.
