Overview of Endpoints on Application Systems

In System Designer, you can represent or define behavior that a system exposes or consumes by adding endpoints. You can add endpoints directly to the definition of a system or to that definition's members. You can add endpoints of the same type as those that you add to applications. For information about endpoints, see Overview of Endpoints on Applications.

Endpoints also allow you to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Configure communication pathways between systems that you add as members of system definitions.

  • Define contracts for system definition behavior.

  • Delegate behavior of a system definition to its members.

  • Expose behavior of members in a system definition.
