Remarks

This class is used to manage the mail transport for desktop computers. The base class, MailTransport, implements most of the common functions such as configuring the message cache and the maximum number of retries.

The Transport property of the MailBindingBase class is used to get and set the Exchange Web Service transport for the binding element.

The computer is assumed to be online. Only the mail transport that is used in Windows Mobile devices supports casually connected scenarios in which the device might be offline for a period of time.

Note

This class is included with the .NET Compact Framework version 3.5, but it requires the .NET Framework version 3.0 or later at run time.
