Searching for a Component

In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, you can search for a component in the database by using the search tool in the component browser. Searches are conducted across all components currently displayed in the browser. The component browser displays components in the component database according to the component filter that is applied.

If the All Components filter is in effect, the browser displays all components in the database and your search is conducted across them all. If a different filter is in effect, the browser displays all of the components that meet the rules of that filter, and your search is conducted across this limited set of components.

To search for a component in the component browser

  1. In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, in the Search box at the top of the component browser, type the component name, or a part of the name.

  2. To start your search, choose the search icon to the right of the Search box.

The component browser scrolls to the first occurrence of the string you typed in the Search box, if it exists.

  3. To continue the search, choose the search icon again.

The component browser scrolls to the next occurrence of the string you typed in the Search box, if it exists.
