LVM_GETSUBITEMRECT

This message retrieves data about the bounding rectangle for a subitem in a list-view control. This message is intended to be used only with list-view controls that use the LVS_REPORT style.

Syntax

LVM_GETSUBITEMRECT wParam = (WPARAM)(int) iItem;
    lParam = (LPARAM)(LPRECT) lpRect;

Parameters

  • iItem
    Index of the subitem parent item.
  • lpRect
    Long pointer to a RECT structure that receives the subitem bounding rectangle data. The members of RECT must be initialized according to the member and value relationships shown in the following tables.

    Member Value

    top

    The one-based index of the subitem.

    left

    Flag value (see following). Indicates the portion of the list-view subitem for which to retrieve the bounding rectangle.

    Value Description

    LVIR_BOUNDS

    Returns the bounding rectangle of the entire item, including the icon and label.

    LVIR_ICON

    Returns the bounding rectangle of the icon or small icon.

    LVIR_LABEL

    Returns the bounding rectangle of the entire item, including the icon and label. This is identical to LVIR_BOUNDS.

Return Value

Nonzero indicates success. Zero indicates otherwise.
