Suppressing Policy Change Warnings

Each time you use an option that changes security policy, Caspol.exe warns of the specific policy change that is about to occur. If you are familiar with Caspol.exe and consider these warnings unnecessary, you can turn them off.

To suppress policy change warnings

  • Type the following command at the command prompt:

    caspol –polchgprompt off

To turn on policy change warnings

  • Type the following command at the command prompt:

    caspol –polchgprompt on

Before turning off this feature, consider that it is often much easier to confirm a policy change beforehand than it is to fix the policy afterward.
