Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 is a messaging and collaboration platform that provides e-mail, scheduling, online forms, and tools for custom messaging and collaborative applications. Exchange 2007 includes support for XML, WebDAV, ASP, and more.

Data access technologies, such as OLE DB and Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) enable developers to use their existing skills to build custom applications for Exchange 2007. Custom applications can be built with development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft FrontPage 2000, and Microsoft Office, Developer Edition.

For more information about developing for Microsoft Exchange, see the Exchange Server Developer Center.
