The following table shows the XML HTTP properties, with a description of the purpose of each.

Programming element Description
onreadystatechange Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Specifies the event handler to be called when the readyState Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) changes.
readyState Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents the state of the request.
responseBody Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents only one of several forms in which the HTTP response can be returned.
responseStream Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents only one of several forms in which the HTTP response can be returned.
responseText Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents the response entity body as a string.
responseXML Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents the parsed response entity body.
status Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents the HTTP status code returned by a request.
statusText Property (IXMLHTTPRequest) Represents the HTTP response line status.
