Subtitle Files (.xas)

Subtitle files have the file name extension .xas. These are XML files that are similar to XMU markup files but with the following differences:

• They do not support the event element, and thus can't interoperate with script.
• They can't have input, button, area, or object elements.
• They can't use inline styles.
• It is also common practice to use inline timing with absolute time expressions (as opposed to relative time expressions) for subtitle elements instead of block timing, which is the more common practice for XMU files.
