Archive Files (.aca)

This is preliminary documentation and subject to change.

An archive file is used to group multiple files together. This improves the performance of an HD DVD player when loading multiple content, by reducing the number of seek operations necessary to load multiple files. This is very important and a useful step, but it is not necessary.

You can refer to files contained in an ACA from either script or markup as if the ACA file was a directory:

file:///hddvddisc/ADV_OBJ/archivefile.aca/content.jpg

You can create and read archive files using the CreateACA.exe tool included with the Jumpstart.
