Repository Sets

A repository set is a group of repositories that a component can reference instead of a single repository, as the source of its files. A repository set is typically used to group a repository that contains debug files with the repository that contains corresponding release files. When this is the case, the build script in a configuration dictates which repository to access at build time.

Once defined, a repository set is considered permanent. Repositories can be added to a repository set, but no attempt should ever be made to remove or update the files in a repository set after its contents have been defined and the repository set definition has been imported into the component database. Doing this can cause inconsistent build results. If the files associated with a component or components change, a new repository set should be created and associated with the new versions of the components.
