Windows CE Strings Translation

When creating an application package for Smartphone or Pocket PC, the application developer can specify where files should be extracted on the device. Smartphone and Pocket PC also provide shortcuts, in the form of Windows CE Strings, which will be translated into a directory that is correct for any given device. For example, the string %CE2% will be translated into the Windows directory (usually \Windows on the default storage volume). This translation occurs on the device at installation time.

If a default storage volume is present on the device, the default storage volume string will be added to the beginning of the listed Smartphone directory. For example, if the default storage volume is Storage, %CE1% will be changed to \Storage\Program Files automatically when a CE directory identifier is used. The %CEx% string will put files in the correct place on all platforms regardless of the file system's layout.

Note   CE Strings must use uppercase characters.
