Lesson 8: Saving a Tabular Report to the Report Server (Report Builder 1.0)

In the previous lesson, you ran the report to view the data that you added to the report. In this lesson, you will save the report to the report server or SharePoint library. This is called publishing the report. After the report is saved to the report server or library, you can assign permissions, create subscriptions, and run the report.

Note

You must have permissions to publish to the report server or library. Contact your administrator for assistance.

To save your report

  1. On the File menu, click Save.

    The Save As Report dialog box opens.

  2. Navigate to the location on the report server or library where you want to save the report.

  3. In the Name box, type Sales by Territory.

  4. In the Items of type box, verify that Report is displayed.

  5. Click Save.

You have successfully published the report to the report server. The report exists as an RDL file on the report server. You have completed the Creating a Basic Tabular Report tutorial.
