How to: Format Text (Report Builder)

Text in a text box or in a cell of the report layout is formatted using the Font tab of the Format dialog box or by using the Font toolbar.

To change a font

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Font list, select a font.

  4. Click OK.

To change the font style

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Font style list, select a style.

  4. Click OK.

To change the font size

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Size list, select a font size.

  4. Click OK.

To change the spacing between lines of text

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Line spacing drop-down list, select a point size.

  4. Click OK.

To select a font effect

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Effects area, select an effect for the font.

  4. Click OK.

To select a text color

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, select Font.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab selected.

  3. In the Color area, select a font color.

  4. Click OK.
