This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

  1. Set up a shared folder on a network server. You might need assistance from your network administrator.

  2. Copy the Microsoft Access database to the network server.

  3. Make sure the Access database is set to open in shared mode, which is the default setting.

    How?

Note   To access the shared Access database from another computer, you must have one of following on the other computer: a local installation of Microsoft Access, a network installation of Microsoft Access (licensed on a per-user basis), or a run-time application. You can obtain a royalty-free license to install your run-time application on each computer when you purchase Microsoft Office 2000 Developer (MOD).
