Adding a Pay Period Dimension
Before you start this task, it can help to familiarize yourself with the structure of the Microsoft® Office Project Server 2003 database, as described in Architecture of Portfolio Analyzer.
In SQL Server Enterprise Manager, open the Project Server database. The staging tables have the MSP_CUBE prefix. The Resources Cube fact table is named MSP_CUBE_RES_AVAIL_FACT; its associated dimension tables are MSP_CUBE_RESOURCES, MSP_CUBE_ENTERPRISE_RESOURCE_OUTLINE_n, and MSP_CUBE_TIME_BY_DAY.
The Assignments Cube fact table is named MSP_CUBE_ASSN_FACT. Its associated dimension tables are MSP_CUBE_TIME_BY_DAY, MSP_CUBE_ENTERPRISE_ASSIGNMENT_OUTLINE_n, MSP_CUBE_PROJECTS, MSP_CUBE_RESOURCES, and MSP_CUBE_PROJ_VERSIONS. The other MSP_CUBE tables are related dimension tables.
For more information about the Project Server database, see the file PJSVRDB.HTM in the \Docs\1033 folder on the Project Server installation CD or in the directory [Program Files]\Microsoft Office Project Server 2003\HELP\1033 on the computer where Project Server is installed.
Note 1033 is the Locale ID (LCID) for U.S. English; the directory for localized versions is different. For example, the LCID for Japanese is 1041.
