System Requirements

The ERP Connector Solution Starter requires two server computer systems:

  1. Project Server computer:
    • Microsoft Office Project Server 2003. For general Project Server information, see Microsoft Office Project Online.
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (any edition).
    • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed on the Project Server computer. For more information, see How to Get the .NET Framework 1.1. You should also install the latest .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack.
    • Computer with a 500 MHz Pentium III processor, or higher.
    • 500 megabytes (MB) of RAM or better (more is optimal).
    • 10 GB of free drive space or better for installation.
  2. Server for mySAP™ ERP:
    • mySAP ERP 4.6 or later is required.
    • mySAP ERP is assumed to be installed on a server that is separate from Project Server.

You can demonstrate many of the ERP Connector components using only the Project Server computer and XML test files similar to those supplied with the download.

Development Environment

The Project Data Service (PDS) extension components and the ASP.NET administration page are written in Microsoft Visual C# 2003. If you plan to modify the source code, you need to install Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. For more information, see the Microsoft Visual Studio Developer Center.

You can do your development on a computer that is separate from Project Server, such as on a computer running Microsoft Windows XP. After you compile the ERP Connector components, however, you must install them on the Project Server computer.
