Creating a Digital Dashboard Project

You can use the Microsoft® Office XP Developer environment to create a Digital Dashboard project. When you create a Digital Dashboard, Office Developer creates a dashboard project and adds an HTML Web part to the project.

To create a dashboard

  1. From the Start menu, select Microsoft Office XP Developer, and then select Microsoft Development Environment.
  2. From the File menu, select New, and then select Project.
  3. The New Project dialog box is displayed. Select Office Developer Projects.
  4. Under Templates:, select the Dashboard Project icon.
  5. In the Folder location box, do one of the following:
    • Type the URL to the Microsoft® Exchange 2000 Server or SharePoint Portal Server public folder location where you want to create your application. Typically, this URL will be in the form http://ServerName/Public.

      –or–

    • Click the Browse button to specify a folder location by using the Select Folder dialog box.

  6. In the Folder Name dialog box, type the name for the folder that will contain your dashboard. This will be part of the URL used to open your dashboard. For example, if you enter MyApplication, the URL to your application will look like http://MyServer/Public/MyApplication.
  7. Click OK.
