Determine which shortcuts should be created for your application.

To launch the Packaging Wizard from the Start menu, select Programs, select Microsoft Office XP Developer, and then Packaging Wizard.

  • Start Menu Shortcuts
Displays a tree view of the shortcut. By default, the Start menu tree view shows two directories: the Start Menu directory, and the Programs subdirectory with a shortcut to the main file for the application. Use the buttons to add folders and/or items to the programs sub directory.
  • New Folder
Adds a new folder to the Start menu tree at the indicated location. Select either the Programs folder, and then click this button. A new folder appears in the tree, and you can type a new name for it. This button is disabled if the selected item is a shortcut, or the Start Menu folder.
  • New Shortcut
Adds a new shortcut underneath the selected folder in the tree view. This button is disabled if the selected item is a shortcut, or the Start Menu folder. The shortcut should, in most cases, correspond to an executable or help file for your application.
  • Remove
Removes the selected item, and all sub-items from the tree view. This button is disabled if the Start Menu folder or the Programs folder is selected.
  • Properties
Displays the Properties dialog box where you can edit the current information for the selected shortcut. This button is disabled if the selected item is not a shortcut.
