This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The Exchange Web form registration links the custom Exchange Web forms and the data items. Data items can be messages, contacts, calendaring, custom properties, and so forth.

A form registration is an item in the Exchange store that consists of a series of form definition fields. Usually there is a single form registration for each Exchange Web form. However, multiple form registrations can exist for an Exchange Web form. For example, you might want to show the same form as the default form for the directory and another form to edit an existing item or to create a new item.

These fields specify properties that are matched. Properties include the browser type, language, processing information, and which form to render.

An Exchange Web form registration determines when Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003 displays a custom form. For example, the form can be displayed as the default view for a folder, the response to a command such as Open or Edit, or it can be displayed when the user opens an item of a particular content class.
