How to: Include Online Content in Search and F1 Help Results

You can now search MSDN Online, MSDN forums, and participating third-party Web sites for Help as well as local Help installed on your computer. In addition, you can use MSDN Online content for F1 Help results. For more information, see Help Sources: Local Help and Online Help.

Include online content in search and F1 Help results

The first time you use Help, a dialog box appears asking whether or not you would like to include online content in your Help searches and MSDN Online content for F1 Help results. If you did not choose to include online content, you can easily add online content to Help using the Options dialog box.

To include online content

  1. In Microsoft Document Explorer, on the Tools menu choose Options.

  2. In the Options dialog box, choose Help and then choose Online.

  3. Select Try Online first, then local if you intend to use online content as your primary source for search and F1 Help.

  4. In Search these providers, select the online content providers you want to include in search results.

  5. Use the Up and Down arrows to change the order in which search results are listed on the Search page.

  6. In Codezone Community select the community members whom you want to provide content for searches, if applicable

  7. Click OK.
