How to: Add a Custom Folder to Target a Predefined Windows Folder
Custom folders are special folders that represent folders on a target computer. A number of special folders are available within the File System Editor; however, Windows Installer supports additional predefined Windows folders that are not represented. You can create custom folders that target those additional predefined Windows folders. For a list of folders supported by Windows Installer, see System Folder Properties.

The dialog boxes and menu commands you see might differ from those described in Help depending on your active settings or edition. To change your settings, choose Import and Export Settings on the Tools menu. For more information, see Working with Settings.
To add a custom folder that targets a predefined Windows folder
In the folder list of the File System Editor, select the File System on Target Machine node.
On the Action menu, point to Add Special Folder, and then click Custom Folder.
The new folder is highlighted in the folder list.
Type a name for the custom folder.
For example, to target the Temp folder, type "Temp Folder".
In the Properties window, select the DefaultLocation property and enter the Windows Installer system folder property for the folder you wish to target.
