The Windows Embedded Academic Program (WEMAP) helps provide a better understanding of the Windows Embedded CE and Windows XP Embedded operating systems to faculty and students. As a participant in this program, you can learn how to be part of the next generation of embedded developers or educators on Windows Embedded.

What about Windows Mobile?
The Windows Mobile platform is different from Windows Embedded. Windows Mobile is a complete software platform build on Windows CE and is used on devices that have special hardware configurations. Windows Embedded is customizable and is used for a variety of small footprint devices such as handhelds, thin clients, and advanced consumer electronics.
