Remarks

A service element represents the aggregated capabilities and machine states of a user's endpoints. It is generated by the aggregation script supported by Office Communications Server. For example, a user has remained idle in Office Communicator for hours and has just finished a voice call using a VoIP phone. The user's presence is represented by a service element indicating that the user's machine state is active for the audio capability but idle for the text capability. This is because the phone device lacks the text capability.
