How to: Add or Remove Features

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

You can add and remove features in an existing Speech Server installation.

  • Before you modify the Speech Server installation, see How to: Start and Stop Speech Server.
  • Modifying Speech Server temporarily interrupts the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service.
  • Some feature combinations might be enforced or restricted during modification. The Speech Server Setup program does not continue the modification until the appropriate conditions are met. For more information, see How to: Install Speech Server.
