Purpose

Use the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Server SDK to create Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server applications that customize and extend the functionality of Office Communications Server 2007, and to manage Office Communications Server 2007 deployments.

The Server SDK provides the following:

  • A Server Application API
  • A Server Management API

Developer Audience

The Office Communications Server??2007 Server Application API is for:

  • Developers who want to use Application Manifests and Microsoft SIP Processing Language (MSPL) scripts to implement simple custom SIP message filtering and routing on computers in an Office Communications Server deployment.
  • Experienced SIP developers who want to create SIP-based managed code server applications that implement real-time content delivery or instant messaging infrastructure, including applications that work directly with SIP transaction objects or support multithreaded transactions.

The Office Communications Server??2007 Server Management API is for:

  • Developers who create WMI applications for Office Communications Server.
  • System administrators who want to manage an Office Communications Server deployment using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) classes.
