ValidationSummary.FocusingInvalidControl Event

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Occurs when an error in the error summary list is clicked.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  System.Windows.Controls.Data.Input (in System.Windows.Controls.Data.Input.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Event FocusingInvalidControl As EventHandler(Of FocusingInvalidControlEventArgs)
public event EventHandler<FocusingInvalidControlEventArgs> FocusingInvalidControl
<sdk:ValidationSummary FocusingInvalidControl="eventhandler"/>

Remarks

By default, when an error message is selected in the ValidationSummary list, it attempts to set focus on the control where the error originated. You can disable this behavior by setting the FocusControlsOnClick property to false. Alternatively, you can change the focusing behavior by handling the FocusingInvalidControl event and implementing custom focusing behavior. When you handle this event, you set the FocusingInvalidControlEventArgs.Handled property to true to prevent the control from attempting to set focus.
