Process Templates and Tools

With Visual Studio Team System and the integrated process templates, teams can deliver predictable results, continuously improve and adapt, and effectively collaborate and communicate with team members and stakeholders.

One process does not fit all software projects or teams. Visual Studio Team System includes Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) for Agile Software Development and MSF for CMMI Process Improvement. In addition, partner organizations offer processes including SCRUM, EUP and FDD for Visual Studio Team system. These templates can be used as is, or customized to enact your development process.

MSF for Agile Software Development

MSF for Agile Software Development makes iterative software development enterprise ready by providing features like risk management, release management and design for operations. This site contains updates to the process guidance, bug fixes, and supporting material for this process.

MSF for CMMI Process Improvement

MSF for CMMI Process Improvement provides rich connections to the CMMI process to help organizations quickly implement mature software development practices. This site contains updates to the process guidance, bug fixes, and supporting material for this process.

Process Template Editor

The Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server Power Tools includes an updated Process Template Editor. Updates include the ability to launch standalone w/o a Visual Studio installation, performance improvements, improved discoverability and bug fixes.

For users of Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server, the Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Power Tools contains the previous version of the Process Template Editor.
