BOOTSTRAP Configuration Service Provider

The BOOTSTRAP Configuration Service Provider sets the Trusted Provisioning Server (TPS) for the device.

This Configuration Service Provider is managed over the OMA Client Provisioning protocol.

The following table shows the default security settings for the BOOTSTRAP Configuration Service Provider. The default security role maps to each subnode unless specific permission is granted to the subnode.

Access to this Configuration Service Provider is determined by Security roles. Because OEMs and Mobile Operators can selectively disallow access, ask them about the availability of this Configuration Service Provider. Characteristics

  • BOOTSTRAP
    Groups the parameters for the Trusted Provisioning Server (TPS). This Root-level characteristic must be present to set the TPS for the device.

  • CONTEXT-ALLOW
    Specifies a context for the TPS. Only one context is supported. This parameter is ignored and 0 is assumed for its value.

  • NAME
    Identifies the friendly server name. If this parameter is missing, the default is "Trust WAP Config Server". This parameter is used in the root BOOTSTRAP characteristic.

  • PROVURL
    Required. Identifies the location of a Trusted Provisioning Server (TPS). This must be a complete URL, starting with "https://", "https://", "wsp://", or "wsps://". The length of the value of PROVURLmust be equal to or smaller than 256 characters.

    This parameter is used in the root BOOTSTRAP characteristic.

  • PROXY-ID
    Identifies a proxy that is available with the bootstrap information. If this parameter is present, a browser favorite will be added, whose URL is the PROVURL parameter, and whose name is the NAME parameter. If the URL has a scheme of "http" or "https", it will be converted to "wsp" or "wsps", respectively.

    This parameter is used in the root BOOTSTRAP characteristic.
