IItem::Display

4/8/2010

The Display method displays the PIM item's Summary card.

Syntax

HRESULT Display(
  HWND hwndParent
);

Parameters

  • hwndParent
    [in] Handle to the parent window.

Return Value

This method returns the standard values E_INVALIDARG, E_OUTOFMEMORY, E_UNEXPECTED, and E_FAIL, as well as the following.

  • S_OK
    The method completed successfully.

Remarks

You can call IItem::Display on unsaved as well as saved PIM items. All saved PIM items and unsaved Contact items display in their associated Summary Cards, while unsaved Appointment and Task items display in their associated Edit Cards.

IItem::Display is equivalent to IAppointment::Display, IContact::Display, and ITask::Display.

Set hWnd to the handle of the window that you want the summary card "parented" to.

If hWnd is NULL, then IItem::Display uses the window handle passed into IPOutlookApp::Logon instead.

Code Example

The following code example demonstrates how to use IItem::Display.

Note

To make the following code example easier to read, security checking and error handling are not included. This code example should not be used in a release configuration unless it has been modified to include them.
